The 15-Minute Garlic Butter Shrimp
The ultimate weeknight dinner that tastes like a 5-star restaurant dish.
Why You’ll Love This
Speed: It actually takes 15 minutes from fridge to table.
Flavor: The combination of browned butter, fresh garlic, and lemon is a classic for a reason.
Versatility: Serve it over pasta, rice, or a big green salad.
Ingredients
1 lb (450g) Large shrimp (peeled and defined, tail-on for looks!)
3 tbsp Unsalted butter
4 cloves Garlic, minced (fresh is a must here!)
1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional, for a little kick)
1/2 Fresh lemon (juice and zest)
2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
Salt & Black Pepper to taste
Instructions
Prep the Shrimp: Pat the shrimp very dry with a paper towel. Pro-tip: Dry shrimp sear better; wet shrimp just steam! Season with salt and pepper.
Saute the Garlic: In a large skillet, melt 1 tbsp of butter over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant (don't let the garlic burn!).
Sear the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque.
The Butter Finish: Add the remaining 2 tbsp of butter to the pan. Once melted, toss the shrimp to coat them thoroughly.
Brighten it up: Remove from heat. Squeeze the lemon juice over the top, add the lemon zest, and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
Secret Tip
Don't Overcook! Shrimp are done the second they form a "C" shape. If they curl into a tight "O," they’ve gone too far and will be rubbery. Aim for the "C"!
